My name is Mariël Wolters, I’m a graphic designer from the Netherlands. I’ve recently graduated from the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Zwolle. One of my main interests is colour. My use of colour is something that it’s very noticeable in my work. For my graduation project I even made a book about colour for children. The book focusses on understanding what colour is but also encouraging kids to explore their own creativity. The elements of play and colour is something I like to continue using in my future work. 

 

During my stay in Olofström I’ve experimented with colouring metals. By heating up the metal I discovered they change colour. I tried using an oven for more even colors, and a torch to get unique patterns of colour. I haven’t applied this technique to a tangible product yet, but it’s something that I might find in the future. I’ve enjoyed my stay in the factory.
