The Art Effect started building knowledge and experience in the field of art, technology, science and entrepreneurship, already many years ago:

>   The first step was made already in 1997 with the introduction of the popular scientific television series Da Vinci, initiated and

produced by our Dutch film company Faassen Media Producties. Da Vinci showed product and process innovations and

     scientific discoveries at universities.

Da Vinci was produced by a highly skilled team of own staff and top freelancers and was broadcasted during 10 years until

2006 by the regional TV station TV Oost.

Program items with emerging artists, working with new technology often in collaboration with companies were added in

     2005 and 2006.

In 2002 Da Vinci was selected as second best science program on Dutch television.

>   In 2006 Faassen Media Productions initiated the EuropeanArtists.tv project that produced dozens of TV programs about

artists and designers, often about their successful collaborations with companies. Many programs (about Daan

Roosegaarde, Filip Jonker, Petra Groen, Uwe Poth and others) were broadcasted by Dutch national television AVRO in

2007 and 2008. High viewing figures were achieved.

>   In 2010 we initiated the Sart & Science project in Enschede (Holland) in which freethinking artists and scientists from the

University of Twente enriched each others thinking and developed innovative art installations. We coordinated the

pioneering project that concluded in 2012 with a wonderful exhibition at the University of Twente.

>   2013 - 2014 we initiated and coordinated the Art & Technology project in Olofström (Sweden) in which we successfully

connected freethinking artists and designers from around the world with the regional economy, to contribute to the

conservation of existing and the creation of new jobs.

Main goal of the project was to bring new inspiration, new thinking and new ideas into the companies and to create new

promising products and finding new gateways to the market.

Introducing freethinking artists and designers as inventors or innovators in industrial environments, where they can

collaborate with skilled technicians and work with high-quality production techniques, is extremely challenging.

The project proved to be very successful, for instance with the development of prototypes and products and the promotion

of Olofström as an innovative and attractive town to live and work.

The project developed exciting artist-in-factory projects and the concept for a new International Innovation Lab in Olofström.

We also started a new development towards a permanent sculpture centre and a sculpture park in Olofström to support

      growth in tourism.

Within the project in Olofström processes were supervised with clear agreements on input, fees, protection of trade secrets,

      communication, property and other rights.

The Art & Technology project is well recorded and documented in order to create a basis of knowledge and experience.

In December 2014 we published the full color Art & Technology magazine as final report. Inspiring articles are written by

participating artists and regional partners. Here you can find the digital version:

>   In 2014 we were co-founder of the Pip! Platform of 12 European Art & Technology residencies, initiated by Etopia Center

for Art & Technology in Zaragoza, Spain.

>   In 2014/2015 Art & Technology project leader Roel Faassen joined a pioneering team in Enschede, Holland, together with

the Rijksmuseum Twenthe, Art Academy AKI and Duurzom, about radical innovation through collaboration between artists,

     scientists and entrepreneurs.

>   In 2015 the Swedish Art & Technology project continued as a regional project, hosted by NetPort Science Park in

     Karlshamn.

>   Project leader Roel Faassen was invited for a presentation at the conference "Creative sector as a chance for regional

growing" at the art academy of Szczecin, Poland. He was also invited as 'external expert' to join the Grand Workshop in

Szczecin of the South Baltic Region CTCC (Creative Traditional Companies Cooperation) project.
