The Art Effect brings freethinking artists, designers and scientists within companies, organizations, cities and regions with the aim of radical innovation.

Together we supply feasible and if necessary, spectacular solutions to renew or reposition areas, organizations and manufacturing industries.

We help to develop a strong creative industry in cities and regions, we bring new, creative thinking within companies, organizations and regions aimed at the development of new products, new markets and new audiences.

The Art Effect is an umbrella project, bundling a wide range of projects in the fields of art, science and entrepreneurship, initiated by Långvästen AB (Sweden) and Faassen Media Producties BV (the Netherlands). Both companies are owned by Roel Faassen who was educated as artist/designer at art academy AKI in Enschede, the Netherlands.

Turmoil arises where pioneers from different disciplines meet. Where insights collide or complement each other. Sometimes that turmoil leads to new ideas in provocative directions and eventually to spectacular innovations. Collaboration between freethinking artists, scientists and entrepreneurs can be very successful as has been demonstrated by the Art & Technology project that was developed for the municipality of Olofström, Sweden, and executed in 2013/2014.

In 2015 the successful project continued as a regional project, hosted by NetPort Science Park in Karlshamn.

Europeanartists.tv was initiated in 2005 as an artist-in-residence project, first in Hällefors later in 2013 in Olofström (both Sweden). An Artist-in-Residence project provides artists a temporary residence and work space. The ongoing presence of international artists can increase the attractiveness of a city, village or region and can contribute to cultural and economic growth. The project in Olofström shows that A-i-R projects can even be connected to innovation in companies and the creation of jobs. This project also shows that smaller villages too can offer interesting challenges and thus benefit from the attention from international artists, seeking attractive environments for inspiration and exiting projects for participation.

Faassen Media Producties has a long history that goes back to about 25 years ago. The media production company produced TV programs for Dutch regional and national Television, TV commercials, commissioned films and documentaries, The company won many Dutch awards, for instance the GOLDEN SAM AWARD for 'Best Dutch Commissioned Film 2005".

In 2009 Europeanartists.tv initiated the ice art festival Isstjärnan in Hällefors as a rehearsal for the International Ice & Fire Art Festival Isflamma in 2010 in Grythyttan, also Sweden. EuropeanArtists.tv was supported by many international artists, local volunteers, unemployed youth, local companies and multinationals as Husqvarna, StoraEnso and Icopal.
